summer camp for military kids

Here’s an interesting link that has summer camps geared specifically for military kids – both day camps and overnight camps. They are being sponsored in part by the National Military Family Association.

  1. I think that Military kids have been exposed to many environments and settings: Especially when one or both of their parents gets stationed at different bases throughout his/her military career. Because of this, having the capacity to put your child in a camp with others who have had to move from place to place: Not being able to make any substantial friendships, maybe this can be the answer. By having a structured teen service program of some sort that they can come back to every year, friendships made can be maintained throughout the years as they grow into young adults.

  2. Hi,
I just stumbled on to your blog, with great timing! My husband is looking into volunteering as a recruiter, and I was wondering if you might be able to give us some pointers as to what we should expect, him as the recruiter and me as the spouse.
    I’d really appreciate it!
    Thanks so much!
